Season Update - 6/3/20

Hello Everyone,

Today is the last day to cancel your registration for the upcoming Westside Little League season.  The deadline is 11:59 pm tonight (Wednesday, June 3, 2020) and you must email Terry Kilberg at [email protected] .  We have posted this notification on the Westside Little League website, the Westside Little League Facebook page, and emailed everyone that was registered to play baseball this year.  No refunds will be issued after today’s deadline.

This applies to anyone registered for the Minor, Major, 50/70 or Senior divisions.  If you do not know what division your child is registered for login to the Westside Little League website and it will tell you which division your child is signed up for this year.   We will automatically be refunding registrations for the T-Ball and PeeWee divisions.  No email is required.

We also would like to provide everyone answers regarding some of the questions we have received since providing the last update.  They are listed below.

Concession Stand Buyout

Question – If my child decides to play in the Minor, Major, 50/70 or Senior division this year will Westside Little League be refunding the $25 concession stand buyout fee since the concession stand will be closed this year.

Answer – No.  If your child plays this season, we will not be refunding the $25 concession stand buyout.  This money is needed to operate the league and used for mowing, umpires, equipment, and many other expenses that are necessary to run the league.

Practice Schedules

Question – When will practices begin?

Answer – Our plan is to begin practicing in the next week or so.  As soon as registration/cancellation is completed today we will finalize all the teams and notify coaches so they can contact players and begin practicing.

Game Schedules

Question – When will games begin and how many games will be played this season?

Answer – Our plan is to begin games the last week of June.  Games would be played the last week of June, the month of July, and possible the first week of August.  We are expecting to play 12 to 15 games this season.  All games are played Monday – Friday.  Weekends are usually reserved for any makeup games that were cancelled due to bad weather.

City Tournament and All-Stars

Question – Will we have a City Tournament and All-Stars this season?

Answer – No

Akron Games

Question – Will we be playing games in Akron this year?

Answer – No

Finally, we would like to thank those of you that have decided to donate a portion or all your registration fees back to Westside Little League.  Words alone cannot thank you enough for this very kind gift.  Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Very Important Information

Westside Little League has a limited number of volunteers on our board.  We are going to need the cooperation and participation of all Managers, Coaches, Parents/Guardians, and players to create and maintain a safe environment for our children to play baseball this season.  If you are on the fence or just do not want to play this year for any reason, please let us know and we will issue you a refund (no questions asked).  For those that do decide to play, we look forward to the upcoming season.  Thank you all for your help!
